Welcome to Meansway
We want our tools to be straightforward to understand and use. These terms explain what you can expect from Meansway, how access works, and your responsibilities when using our website and products.
Meansway operates meansway.com, Spend Check at app.meansway.com, and Holiday Check at holiday.meansway.com. Meansway is based in Denmark.

Purchases and the seller of record
The seller and applicable checkout terms depend on where you buy:
- Printable or downloadable products purchased through Etsy: Those transactions take place through Etsy and are subject to the terms, order information and consumer remedies applicable to that Etsy transaction. Do not assume that Polar handles Etsy purchases.
- Products marked “coming soon”: A listing describing a product as coming soon is not an offer of immediate purchase or access.
Before you pay, the product page and checkout should identify the seller, price, taxes where applicable, what you will receive and the applicable refund terms.

Payments and Merchant of Record
Holiday Check is sold through Polar Software, Inc., which acts as the merchant of record and authorized reseller for purchases completed through its checkout.
For those purchases, Polar handles checkout, payment collection, applicable transaction taxes and payment receipts under its Buyer Terms.
Meansway provides Holiday Check and grants the applicable product usage rights under these Terms.
Your purchase is also subject to Polar’s Buyer Terms.
Personal and household use
Unless a particular product page states otherwise, the Meansway apps are for the personal, non-commercial use of the purchasing household. You may not resell, redistribute, publish, sublicense or offer the application or its access credentials to other households.
Holiday Check uses a license key issued by Polar for each purchase. Spend Check continues to use an access-code arrangement.
Neither product currently has a numerical device limit. This does not change the personal and household use restrictions set out in these Terms.
Spend Check does not currently use individualized license keys or automatic per-purchase revocation, and these features are not promised for Spend Check.
Your plans and backups
Each browser or device maintains its own app data. Changes do not automatically synchronize across devices. Where an app offers backup export and import, you can use those functions to transfer a copy manually.
The figures and plans you enter are held in that browser’s local storage according to the application’s implementation. They are not an automatic cloud backup. If browser data is deleted, the device is lost, or you switch browsers, your records may be unavailable unless you have saved and can restore a separate backup.
Please keep your backup files in a safe place. Personal information in exported files may be readable to anyone who obtains them.
What the tools do—and do not do
Meansway tools help you organize information and explore choices using figures you enter. They are educational planning tools; they are not a substitute for individualized financial, legal, tax or investment advice. They do not connect to your bank or independently verify that your figures are complete or correct. You remain responsible for decisions you make using the information.
Updates, availability and support
We may make reasonable changes to improve security, correct errors and maintain compatibility. We will aim to communicate material changes that affect paid access or important product functionality. Internet, browser, device and hosting problems may occasionally interrupt availability.
Contact [email protected] if a product is not opening or a feature is not working as described. We will review the issue and seek a reasonable resolution, including any remedy required by applicable consumer law. We do not promise uninterrupted access or a particular support response deadline unless separately confirmed.
Intellectual property and your content
Meansway’s website, application software, branding, design and original product material are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. The application license permits use, not redistribution of our software or product materials.
The plans, notes and personal information you enter remain yours. Using the app does not transfer ownership of your personal content to Meansway.
Responsibility and consumer rights
We take reasonable care to provide the tools as described. The results depend on the information you enter and the limitations explained above. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any statutory consumer remedies, mandatory warranties or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Specific limitation-of-liability language must be settled by qualified counsel for the intended markets.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Danish law.
If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of habitual residence.
We hope that any problem can be resolved directly. If you have a question or complaint about a Meansway product, please contact us at [email protected] so that we have an opportunity to help.
Disputes may be brought before the competent courts in accordance with applicable law. Nothing in these Terms restricts a consumer’s right to bring proceedings in another court where mandatory consumer-jurisdiction rules permit it.
Where a complaint falls within the jurisdiction and eligibility requirements of the Danish public consumer complaints system, it may be submitted through Nævnenes Hus at https://naevneneshus.dk/.
Consumers involved in qualifying cross-border purchases within the EU, Iceland or Norway may also seek assistance from the European Consumer Centres Network.
For purchases made through Polar Software, Inc., Polar’s Buyer Terms govern the checkout transaction and related responsibilities of Polar as merchant of record. These Terms govern the applicable Meansway product usage rights and do not override mandatory consumer rights or Polar’s applicable contractual obligations.
Changes and contact
If these terms are updated, we will publish the effective date and explain material changes where required. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights already granted or override mandatory consumer law.
